Arno Gerken is a consultant with 30 years of experience in advisory

He has been a senior partner at McKinsey & Company until his departure in 2021. His client activity spans from Financial Institutions to Oil&Gas-, Power-, and Chemicals-Companies as well as Public Institutions. Geographically, he has spent most of his time – next to the core European countries – in the UK, the US, Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Based on his  30 years work in consulting the experience Arno has developed is very broad. It ranges from strategy to performance management, from regulatory compliance to sales stimulation, or from new business building to cultural and organizational improvements.

Arno joined McKinsey in 1992. Starting in the late 90’s, he launched the development of risk management advisory as a separate and distinct new offering for McKinsey in a grass route manner and led this practice globally. In this capacity, he was part of McKinsey’s global leadership team.

Since his departure from McKinsey, he holds supervisory and advisory board mandates next to his consulting activities.

After an apprenticeship at a private bank and studying national economics and law he wrote is doctoral thesis at the Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelm University of Bonn.

Born in Bremen, Germany, Arno is married and has three children.
